Create space for long-term thinking in an important project with peers.

Past graduate, Steven Hole, Performance Analyst, City of Fort Worth, asked the question, "How will landfill sites be used to sustain the City of Fort Worth and surrounding communities solid waste disposal needs in 25 years?" Steven applied the strategic foresight process and developed the following response:

Project: Strategic Pathways to a Circular Waste Future for Fort Worth

Tagline: Transforming landfill waste into economic, environmental, and community value.

Elevator Pitch

This foresight study presents four possible futures for Fort Worth’s solid waste system, with a strategic focus on accelerating momentum toward a circular economy. By proactively engaging industry, modernizing infrastructure, and embedding circular principles in local governance, the City can transform waste liabilities into regional assets—strengthening economic, environmental, and social systems for decades to come.
