You will hear how the City of Dallas made bold changes, reforming its police department in five years to be recognized as a national model for community policing. Mr. Gonzalez will share how training, policy changes, and community engagement efforts paved the way for building trust among their citizens. Today, Dallas is a less violent city than it was just five years ago while its overall crime rates have decreased; including violent crime, fewer excessive force complaints and a decrease in arrest rates.
