Phoenix Public Library celebrates the grand opening of Open Book Café January 11, 2010 at Burton Barr Central Library, 1221 N. Central Ave.
The 2,000-square-foot café has indoor and patio seating, WiFi access and spaces for studying and relaxing. The café interior was designed by Phoenix architect Will Bruder. It is located on the first floor of Burton Barr Central Library near the west side Central Ave. entrance.
The menu features coffee and espresso, bagels and pastries, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Daily specials are offered.
A café was the number one request on a survey of Central Library customers conducted in 2007. Open Book Café is the first such venture for Phoenix Public Library. It is operated by Emilio Mosca in partnership with the State of Arizona Business Enterprise Program.
