ARTICLE | Oct 4, 2012

Mercer Island Parks and Recreation and Seattle based start-up Funnerator, the popular website that simplifies finding, planning and booking kids activities, are pleased to announce their partnership.

The partnership between these two organizations brings together Mercer Island Parks and Recreation’s rich assortment of hundreds of annual activities and programs with Funnerator’s comprehensive set of tools for discovery and registration. This partnership will enable busy families to find, access, plan and register for Mercer Island Parks and Recreation pre-school and youth activities in one place. “When busy parents are looking for activities for their children, they want a quick and convenient experience. Funnerator offers both, plus it is user friendly, engaging, and a great place to find FUN in a variety of areas. We look forward to partnering with them to promote what we have to offer here on Mercer Island," says Diane Mortenson, Recreation Superintendent, of Mercer Island Parks and Recreation.

Founded in 2012, Funnerator was born from the struggles of well-intentioned parents, and the idea that there has to be a better way to find and plan enriching activities for kids. With 10,000 Greater Seattle area programs and activities listed, including detailed information, schedules, prices and current availability, the site helps families quickly find, plan and book out-of-school activities.

Funnerator is more than just a new way to discover kids activities. The site’s Universal Registration Form simplifies the activity booking process down from multiple pages of paper to one form and one click. Parents may then reuse the Universal Registration Form for any activity displaying the “Book It” button. By giving parents a simplified registration experience, and the ability to easily search based on type of activity, zip code and schedule, Funnerator has quickly become popular with busy Seattle area parents who appreciate the timesaving help.
