After facing the grim task of drastically cutting budgets due to the COVID-19 slowdown, this year some local governments will be receiving up to 40% of their general fund in stimulus. The challenge ahead of them is spending the money wisely. In this webinar, the cities of Greensboro, NC, and Wauwatosa, WI, will talk about how they are making a deliberate effort to involve the public in weighing priorities and setting a course for the future.

Federal guidelines to the stimulus funds state, “Treasury urges State, territorial, Tribal, and local governments to engage their constituents and communities in developing plans to use these payments, given the scale of funding and its potential to catalyze broader economic recovery and rebuilding.” You’ll get a chance to hear what Greensboro and Wauwatosa are doing, as well as other AFI communities across the country.

Speakers:

Sara Hancock, Budget and Management Analyst, City of Greensboro, NC

Melissa Cantarero Weiss, Director of Administrative Services, City of Wauwatosa

Moderator: Chris Adams, President, Balancing Act
