The local government world is celebrating the merger of two great companies – Polco and National Research Center (NRC). But the Alliance for Innovation is particularly proud to see the member network connect not only city management professionals, but trusted local government vendors as well.
In May of 2018, the Alliance met with Nick Mastronardi, CEO of Polco. He asked for an introduction to NRC, a Corporate Partner of AFI. It was Mastronardi’s opinion that Polco’s civic engagement platform could be a tremendous complement to the statistically-based research of NRC. Not long after the Alliance made the introduction, Polco and NRC joined forces to offer the best of both worlds in community engagement technology and survey research. In May of 2019, Polco and NRC officially announced their start to a happily ever after.
"Since joining the Alliance for Innovation Corporate Partner program, National Research Center has had quality interactions with both our local government professional market and other vendors within this niche. We've innovated new offerings and cross-promoted with multiple other AFI partners. We even discovered the necessary opportunity to truly enter into the digital space by merging with the innovative online engagement platform, Polco," stated Angelica Wedell, Communications and Marketing Director for NRC.
Cory Poris Plasch, Vice President of Customer Success at Polco, agrees that the combination creates dynamic opportunities for both parties to better serve their municipal clients. "The two companies are extremely complementary. While both measure resident satisfaction, NRC has the ability to benchmark against two decades of data and the credibility that comes from having worked in this field for 25 years. Polco is a great platform for input on current and emerging topics, in addition to digging deeper into unexpected results from The National Community Survey ™ (The NCS ™)," Plasch said.
It’s an excellent example of how great minds gather under the Alliance umbrella and build powerful, groundbreaking services.
