Civica Makes the Pieces Fit
The migration of all local government and education
processes to the internet is inevitable and building
momentum rapidly.
Forward thinking governments here and overseas are
reacting to significant demand from their
constituents to provide a wide range of online
information and services.
However, the ability to maintain this information
and keep it current has provided great challenges to
Management.
The Civica solution, developed in conjunction with
several Government entities, is to decentralize the
requirement for updating web content and devolve the
responsibilities to each Government Department.
Recognizing that most employees have limited
technical skills, the Civica System has been
developed to enable any employee designated by
management to easily update areas of the web site or
Intranet with minimal training.
The Civica System is a technologically advanced yet
extremely affordable package that places the future
firmly in local government hands.

Civica Software builds attractive, comprehensive and
affordable government Web sites with powerful, easy
to learn and use content management systems. These
allow multiple departments to administer and update
the text and graphical portions of your site
without technical skills. Training in the use
of the system that maintains the site is estimated
to take no more than 30 minutes per person.

The CrimeConnect Tactical Crime Information System (TCIS)
will permit any number of police departments to very
easily and securely, access, share and update their
tactical crime information online. This will include
Wanted, Police bulletins, Sex offender
notifications, General briefings, Mapping, Events
and Missing persons. When logged in to
the TCIS system, all users will access a central
database within a deployment area where the data is
stored, edited and simultaneously displayed at
multiple locations.
PlateScan

PlateScan is a powerful, accurate and affordable
Automatic License Plate Recognition system that is
being adopted by police agencies in the US as a tool
to deny criminals the use of the roads. Developed as
a Counter Terrorism measure, ALPR systems work by
capturing digital images of license plates as they
pass a camera, either mobile or fixed. The
license-plates are automatically cross-checked in
real time against a number of local and national
databases to identify vehicles that are of interest
to the police. Vehicles that match can be
immediately intercepted.
ALPR has massive potential not only to make a
significant impact on vehicle crime, but also on
general criminal activity and homeland security. The
technology is mature, inexpensive and in daily use
worldwide.
PlateScan is based on a proprietary neural network
recognition engine. Neural network technology is
superior to any template based optical character
recognition (OCR) system, offering significantly
higher performance and accuracy than any system
currently available. |
