In this position, you will facilitate the timely and safe operations of the Mountain Metropolitan Transit bus system.
Essential Job Functions - the basic job duties an employee must be able to perform:
Maintain communication among the City and operations contractors, bus drivers, and the public
Provide alternate routing and schedule change instructions to operators in response to disruption of service; ensure the public is notified of route and schedule changes
Coordinate and dispatch bus operator assignments for revenue service, special events, and emergency response
Enter data into the transit-specific Trapeze software system
Process ticket sales, including online and walk-in sales transactions; record and maintain ticket inventory
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
Basic operations, services, and activities of a public transportation program
General use and purpose of transit-related software
Customer services practices, including sensitivity to individuals with disabilities
Techniques of answering and handling emergency and non-emergency calls
Pertinent federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
Operate various forms of communications and office technology
Respond to emergency situations quickly, calmly, and in accordance with department policies and procedures
Relay issues and problems to respective departments or contractors for handling
Accurately evaluate and prioritize assignments while simultaneously working on multiple assignments under pressure
Maintain records, files, and logs
Interpret and explain pertinent City and Transit policies and procedures
Successful candidate will have:
A high school diploma or GED
One year of full-time public transportation experience (i.e., bus driver/operator, bus dispatcher, bus driver/operator supervisor)
One year of full-time radio communications experience
Ideal candidates will also have:
Three years of full-time transit-related operations experience, including two years of full-time radio operations experience
Experience which demonstrates proficiency in transit-specific software
Experience in a customer service environment
Possess and maintain a valid, non-probationary Colorado Commercial Driver's License not subject to restriction related to alcohol and/or drug violations or pending charges with a BP2 (bus, 15 or more passengers, including the driver) endorsement
Physical Demands: This position requires the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
