The Senior Analyst position would be responsible for the collection and organization of complex analytical tools for evaluating Library Department program data and citywide program data related to all education, digital literacy, and digital inclusion efforts. The Senior Analyst’s role will be to oversee the tactical elements of implementing specific program data sets, consult regarding related programs’ training and personnel needs, administer consultant agreements and services, and utilize appropriate automated data processing applications, with the ability to clearly/concisely communicate outcomes illustrated by this data. As the data program work evolves, it is likely that the position will be called on to develop the workplans and supervise technical and clerical staff to complete this work.
Under direction of the Program Manager I, the Senior Analyst would be responsible for:
Oversee complex technical implementation of data analytics systems, including management of consultant services to create a data dashboard for citywide educational data; completion of the DataZone aggregation project with the Santa Clara County Office of Education SCCOE, in partnership with the City of San Jose’s Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department and Work2Future; incorporate the data to inform budget development.
Explore, analyze, recommend, and implement tools and systems for streamlining the collection, aggregation, sharing, analysis, and reporting of relevant data. Oversee the work of technical staff to complete related tasks.
Provide support to Library Executive Staff by ensuring the production of periodic status reports and data interpretation regarding assigned projects.
The annual salary range for this Senior Analyst classification is 85,529.60 – $104,208.00. Effective July 1, 2018, all employees holding positions in this classification shall receive an approximate 5% ongoing non-pensionable compensation increase.

Education: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in general management/administrative analytic work in the areas of budget, finance, grant administration, organizational analysis, general administration, human resources, or related field in general analytical work.
Acceptable Substitution: One (1) year of additional education above the Bachelor’s Degree level may be substituted for one (1) year of the required management/administrative analytic work.
