Virginia AFI Members Honored in 2019 Technology Awards

Congrats to our Alliance for Innovation Members for receiving 2019 Virginia Technology Awards!

At the Alliance for Innovation, a core element of our mission is to connect our members with innovative programs that are driving better results for our local government organizations and the communities we serve.  We would like to congrate and showcase our AFI members who received 2019 Virginia Technology Awards, which honors innovation by state agencies, localities, and educational institutions.

Virginia Beach's VB Connect app, the official mobile app for the Virginia Beach city government and the City of Charlottesville’s Free Meal Program won under the IT as an Efficiency Driver – Government to Citizens category.

In the Innovative Use of Technology in Local Government Category, Newport News' StormSense Alerts and Chesterfield County's Unmanned Aerial Systems Policy and Program were honored.

For the innovative use of Big Data and Analytics, Virginia Beach's Traffic Data-Sharing Partnership, and Norfolk's Data Innovation Initiative were selected.

In the Best Cybersecurity Initiative Category, York County's Citizen Cyber Security was chosen.

Newport News' Tourism Interactive Web Maps: Bike Trails and Toast the Coast was honored for Best Citizen Portal.
