“Leading Culture” is a series of reflections about managing organizational culture using insights from Roger Stancil, the now-retired Town Manager of Chapel Hill.  Rae Buckley and Lindsey Bineau, employees at the Town of Chapel Hill, wrote these essays after interviewing Roger on the eve of his retirement from a public service career of 45 years. They discuss Roger’s experiences leading cultural change using academic theory described in “Defining Organizational Culture” by Edgar H. Schein and Chapter Two of Anne Khademian’s book, Leading Through Cultural Change.
