The Finance Department has won this award 33 times. Public recognition of this latest award will take place at the January 22, 2018 Council Meeting.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting has been awarded to the City of Arvada by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its comprehensive annual financial report (CAFR.) The CAFR contains information summarizing the City’s financial position and is essentially the City’s public financial statement. 

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management.
