City of Ashland to Host Ashland Climate and Energy Action Plan

ARTICLE | May 12, 2016

The City of Ashland is developing a Climate and Energy Plan to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and help prepare the community for a changing climate. The public is invited to participate in a series of three open houses this year to help shape the plan, which the City hopes will reflect the community’s goals and vision for the future. Ultimately, the plan will guide investments in on-the-ground measures designed to meet goals and targets to efficiently reduce emissions and build resilience.

The first open house will be held at the Old Ashland Armory (208 Oak St) on May 24 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. There will be time to visit stations, talk to the project team and members of the Mayor appointed committee charged with guiding the process, and share your thoughts; there will also be a short presentation at 6:00 pm.
Please attend to learn more about how climate change may impact Ashland, and to give the City your input as the planning process gets underway. Together, the community can build a more resilient and sustainable Ashland for local residents, businesses, and visitors. To learn more, visit
